Filmmakers

Daniel Sites worked for several years at Lone Wolf Documentary Group in South Portland, working his way up to the position of Director of Development. His big break came as a producer of the award-winning documentary film THE RIVALS, which was the opening night film at the Maine International Film Festival in 2009. The film went on to win “Best Picture” at the Phoenix Film Festival. He is now helping produce the Animal Planet series “North Woods Law.” Daniel lives in Portland and plans to make more documentaries in the future.

Ryan Brod is a registered Maine fishing guide who grew up fishing the Belgrade Lakes with his father. HARDWATER is his first venture into the world of filmmaking, and it won’t be his last.  Together with Dan, he started “Floating Hat Productions,” riding the momentum of HARDWATER. Ryan has an outdoor passion for every season. He lives on Peaks Island where he ties tarpon flies and daydreams about his next documentary project. Visit Ryan's guide page
